Visit statistics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find the site and which pages lead to a partnership inquiry, a newsletter signup or a donation. It sets cookies in your browser and records the pages you visit, how you arrived, your approximate location and your device type. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, so this data is not used to build advertising profiles.

Vercel, which hosts the site, also counts page views. Its analytics do not use cookies.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is sent to SendFox, the service that sends our newsletter. We use it only to send you the newsletter. To stop receiving it, use the unsubscribe link in any issue, or email us.

Partnership and volunteer inquiries

What you write in the form on the Get Involved page — your organisation, name, email, phone number if you give one, and your message — is sent as an email to our community inbox through Brevo, an email delivery service. We use it only to reply to you and to plan the visit or partnership. The website itself keeps no database of inquiries.

Donations

Donations are made on PayPal. The donate buttons open PayPal in a new tab, and your payment details go to PayPal, not to this website. We count each press of a donate button in Google Analytics; we do not see whether a payment was completed from the website.

Turning off Google Analytics

You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same either way.
